Claim check

The longevity podcast claims you hear most, checked against the studies

We counted which claims come up in the most episodes, found each one on tape, then read the studies that test it. Every badge is computed from those studies alone, by the same rule Precis uses everywhere. Nobody writes or edits it.

Which claims. One fixed word list was run over the episode summaries of each show. A claim counts the episodes it comes up in, and the claims each show repeats most made the list. A bigger archive repeats more, so compare episode counts within a show, not across shows. A few claims come from a single claim check rather than the episode count, and show no count.

Which studies. For each point a claim makes, we searched PubMed, kept the studies that test it, and ranked them by how directly they test it, then by landmark status, then by citations. Up to ten count per point. Two readers read each one in full and judged its stance; a third reader settled any split.

The badge. It is computed by the same rule that runs on every claim on Precis, from the stances of the studies that test the claim. The quote itself is never counted as evidence for the claim. Only human studies count; a point about animals shows its studies without a badge from them.

What this is not. A systematic review, a verdict on any person, or medical advice. The person named on a claim is where we heard it, credited on the quote.
